A School project: ChAWO has a school project at Landhi (Kala Pani). It is located in a low income area and children are neglected by the community due to poverty, ChAWO is facilitating the children on welfare basses.  The parents and other community members are very pleased to find such a cooperative organization

AWAZ: a project of ChAWO:

The organization is committed to do work for the betterment of children and create such an environment for the children where their life skills may be developed according to nature.

The basic theme of the organization is “To Develop Life Skills”

Though it is a newly registered organization but the team was involved in all these activities for many years, the notable work of the organization is:

AWAZ: AWAZ stands for Academic, Welfare & Advisory Zone; it is a project of the organization, and rapidly involved and many private schools to arrange co-curricular activities for the students, to provide them consultancy in management & planning and to offer them teachers training workshops free of cost. AWAZ is trying to convince the teacher to understand the child psychology and needs and make the teachers able to treat a child right. It is trying to create a sense in teachers that corporal punishment is neither good nor solution of the problems, what they are facing in the class. Through different activities and handout Children Aid Welfare Organization is trying to create awareness about the destructive effect of corporal punishment.

Partnership with NGORC:

it is one of our best experiences to work on “HUM QADAM” with NGORC (A Project of Agha Khan Foundation) for the empowerment of women. We found Anis Danish very cooperative and kind.

Welfare Work for (IDPs):

ChAWO also played a vital role to work for the war effected people who were displaced due to conflict of govt. and Taliban in SWAT, WAZIRISTAN and bajawarr.

It’s an honor for us that we dot success to convince many people and organization to help the IDPs here in Landhi.

More than 4, 00,000/= rupees were being distributed here in IDPs and a part of cash food items and basic things for living was also being provided.

Some of our friends from many media were being motivated to cover their stories and to publish the real problems of IDPs. Aroosa from Dawn.com, Zia Rehman from Ummat, shuaib & feeca of FM103, Sartaj & Dr. Riaz of Socialist magazine supported us a lot in it.

The Network for women rights, Edhi Foundation and many other social groups were involved in this campaign on our request.

Finally we arranged return tickets for 45 persons when they wanted to go but they were not able to pay for their return to their hometowns.

Social Group: We feel that it is a need of social sector to create connection among local social organizations. It’s the way to enhance their capability and to share the ideas and find out the solutions for development. To fulfill this need ChAWO organized a social group by the name of “National Social Forum” National Social Forum is now an independent functional coalition of more than 15 local CBOs & CSOs and its popularity is increasing day by day.

Research and Resource centre:

ChAWO is about to establish a research and resource centre, it‘ll facilitate the students, teachers & other social organization here in landhi which are already a part of our social group. We hop that it‘ll also a best place to organize co-curricular activities for children.
